About The Department

The Department of Economics is an integral part of School Business and Economics of Adamas University catering to the contemporary needs of business management, commerce and economics graduates in today’s dynamic economic and business environment. The department strives to depart knowledge and skills which are conducive with recent developments in the economy and society, particularly inculcating industry 4.0 skills and critical aspects of the New Education Policy (NEP). This makes the department truly multidisciplinary in nature, incorporating research based learning, benchmarking international standards, provoking outcome based learning and preparing socially responsible graduates. The department offers programs that are well versed with content relating to policy analysis, critical thinking, quantitative aptitude and value added courses focusing on lifelong learning. The department has a highly committed team of faculty members with vast national and international exposure to aid the development of students along with state of the art infrastructure.

While dissemination of knowledge of the subject to address real life issues in business and other spheres of life is of focus, building socially responsible citizens through various community service and capacity building courses is interwoven throughout the program.

M.S 01: Improve employability of our students through futuristic curriculum and progressive pedagogy through regular interaction with ‘people in practice’ from industry, NGOs, think tanks.

M.S 02: Adopt Outcome Based Education (OBE) in developing the curricula and syllabi to ensure the goal oriented training and measuring its attainment

M.S 03: Prepare the mind to think in an innovative way and to look at any practical problem in real life so that the learners develop a research orientation

Dr. Rajneesh Kler

Head Of The Department

Department Of Economics, School of Business and Economics

Dr. Kler is currently the Head of the Department of Department of Economics and Associate Director Planning and Monitoring, Adamas University. He is a Ph.D. in Economics from National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) and holds four master degrees in area of economics, international business and economics of education from renowned Universities. One of his Master degree is from university of Glasgow, Scotland (MSc in International Financial Economics) which is ranked in top 100 Universities in the world by many global accreditation bodies. He also earned his MSc in International Business from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland. His parent master degree is MA in Economics from Jamia Milia Islamia University. He earned his research master’s degree (M.Phil) from National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). He also qualified UGC NET in Economics in the year 2005. On professional front he has been working with best of the Universities and Institutions in Delhi NCR, such as MDI Gurgaon, IILM and Sharda University since 2009, last assignment being GD Goenka University. He has been holding various positions such as program coordinator, module leader, area chair and deputy proctor in his previous roles. So far he has published more than 10 research papers (national and International) and have edited a book of a conference proceedings.

As Economics lies at the heart of business world and is a critical area of study for business concerns, the Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE) program at AU aims to deliver the core ideas of economics and implications of these ideas to businesses their environment, preparing graduates for a variety of stimulating careers. The program provides the quantitative and analytical skills that enable students to succeed in a wide variety of business activities. The program is based on flexible arrangement of study strengthened by research and innovative learning pedagogies, which advances a student’s ability to develop academic and practical insights into the domain.  The M.Sc. in Economics is a two-year postgraduate program having specialization tracks in applied econometrics, public policy and banking & finance. The Program aims to provide rigorous training in modern economic theories and techniques with a special emphasis on evaluating the policy issues. The graduates of M.Sc. program will gain skills required for advanced research in variety of domains in economics and will have strong grasp over collecting, collating, analyzing data and providing meaningful insights from the analysis. This is supplemented by series of courses based on advanced tools and techniques for data analysis aided by different software (s) and a dedicated yearlong master dissertation. The graduates will gain lifelong learning skills during the program such as leadership and teamwork and become industry ready with cutting edge knowledge.
