The wave of globalization and Internationalisation of higher education is altering the conventional education systems and learning pedagogies across the world. Exploring new ways for designing tertiary education is a worldwide pursuit. There is a need for tertiary education to provide both professional knowledge/skills and all-round attributes to the graduates so as to enable them to face the diversified yet global demands of the 21st century society. The attention now of different institution of higher education in different nations is on students learning outcomes and assessment. With this backdrop a six day FDP was conducted by the department of Economics, school of business and Economics, Adamas University. The objective of this FDP was to nurture the philosophy of Outcome Based Education and build the capacity of the faculty members, so as to strengthen the learning and other academic processes through workshops, discussions and deliberations. Thus to overcome the requirement, it is mandatory to shift from content based education to Outcome Based Education (OBE).
The FDP was conducted from the 26th of February to the 2nd of March, 2021 in a blended mode of workshop and over Google meet. The participants included all faculty members and PhD scholars of the school.Total number of participants: 28 including the virtual participation.

The FDP began with the introduction of the program by the former VC Prof. (Dr.) Deependra K Jha, Vice Chancellor, Adamas University. It continued with the session of the Convener, Dr. Rajneesh Kler with the purpose and objectives of the OBE, The Philosophy of Framing Programme Educational Objectives (PEO’s) and Programme Outcomes (PO’s).The session ended with the discussion on Accreditations and OBE: Link and Importance – Online Session by Ms. Jyoti Bansal, Director, Quality Assurance and Accreditation.
Day two of the FDP began with the informative session by Dr. Sanghamitra Brahma (Dutta) on Content Based Learning Vs. Outcome Based Learning followed by a detailed discussion on The Purpose of Outcome Based Education by Prof. (Dr.) Udayan Das. Dr, Kler’s session dealt with the The Course Objectives and Course Outcomes (CO’s) by Dr. Kler and was summarized a very enriching session by Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Das on the Preamble on Contemporary Pedagogies and Relation With CO’s .
The participants were given assignments from the workshop on Restructuring the existing courses, Preparing a Session Plan and Creating The Rubrics for Day 3 and 4.
The day 5 of the FDP was related to the technical details of the program with sessions on The Session Plan and it’s Components and Assessment Methods and Rubrics for Assessment conducted by Dr. Kler.
The program was summed up with addresses by the Hon. V C (Officiating), Prof. Dr. Naveen Das and Hon. Registrar, Dr. Sanjay Mishra. Dr. Kler called the session closure with a Vote of thanks towards all the key resource persons, participants, and organizing team.
