About The Department

    The Department of Economics & Commerce is an integral part of the School of Business and Economics of Adamas University, catering to the contemporary needs of Economics, Commerce and Business Management graduates in today’s dynamic economic and business environment. The day to day expansion of economic activity in the trade, commerce and business world is responsible for making the study in these areas more relevant and sought after.
    The new age Economics & Commerce education is also constantly fine tuning itself in line with the ongoing changes happening in the trade and business world. The department strives to depart knowledge and skills which are conducive with recent developments in the global economy and society, particularly inculcating industry 4.0 skills and critical aspects of the New Education Policy (NEP). This makes the department truly multidisciplinary in nature, incorporating research based learning, benchmarking international standards, provoking outcome based education and preparing socially responsible graduates.
    The department offers programs that are well versed with content related to Business Economics, Policy Analysis, Critical Thinking, Quantitative Aptitude, Professional Accounting, Management Accounting, Tax Consulting, Marketing, Investment Advising, Finance and value added courses focusing on lifelong learning. The department has a highly committed team of faculty members with vast national and international exposure to aid the development of students along with state of the art infrastructure.

The vision is to emerge as a world class center of advanced learning in Economics & Commerce through promulgating interdisciplinary and research driven approach. While dissemination of knowledge in the areas related to real life issues of Economics & Commerce and other spheres of life is in the focus, building socially responsible citizens through various community service and capacity building capsules is also interwoven throughout the programs offered.

Our Mission

M.S 01: Improve employability of our students through futuristic curriculum and progressive pedagogy through regular interaction with ‘people in practice’.

M.S 02: Adopt Interdisciplinary Approach to learning and Outcome Based Education (OBE) in developing the curricula and syllabi to ensure the goal oriented training and also measuring its attainment.

M.S 03: Prepare the minds to think in an innovative way and to look at any practical problem in real life pertaining to Business Economics, Policy Analysis, Trade & Commerce and Finance & Accounting with research orientation.

M.S 04: Amalgamation of ‘theory with practice’ through collaboration with industry, think tanks, policy research centers, etc. in terms of course design, delivery, and project training.

M.S 05: Instill morale, social ethics, and professional behavior to get back to the society as a ‘socially responsible citizen’ and contribute to the greater agenda of ‘nation building’.

Dr. Rajneesh Kler

Head Of The Department

Department Economics and commerce, School of Business and Economics

Dr. Kler is currently the Head of the Department Economics and commerce and Associate Director Planning and Monitoring, Adamas University. He is a Ph.D. in Economics from National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) and holds four master degrees in area of economics, international business and economics of education from renowned Universities. One of his Master degree is from university of Glasgow, Scotland (MSc in International Financial Economics) which is ranked in top 100 Universities in the world by many global accreditation bodies. He also earned his MSc in International Business from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland. His parent master degree is MA in Economics from Jamia Milia Islamia University. He earned his research master’s degree (M.Phil) from National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). He also qualified UGC NET in Economics in the year 2005. On professional front he has been working with best of the Universities and Institutions in Delhi NCR, such as MDI Gurgaon, IILM and Sharda University since 2009, last assignment being GD Goenka University. He has been holding various positions such as program coordinator, module leader, area chair and deputy proctor in his previous roles. So far he has published more than 10 research papers (national and International) and have edited a book of a conference proceedings.
