Mr. Soumik Sarkar is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Adamas University since September 2019. In his previous role, he worked as Economist in Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Kolkata. He has passed his M.Sc in Economics with high first class marks from University of Calcutta and received M.Phil degree as first class first. At present he is pursuing Ph.D in Political Economy from University of Calcutta, Department of Economics. He has published journal articles and co-authored two edited book chapters with Prof. Anjan Chakrabarti, published by Springer and Routledge India. He has also published pre-budget analysis in leading Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika. He was one of the Bengali translators of “The Country of First Boys” by Amartya Sen. His areas of research interest include International Trade, Political Economy, Development Economics, Indian Economics, History of Economic Ideas, Financial Economics, Globalization.

Qualification:M.Sc & M.Phil in Economics, University of Calcutta, B.Sc (H) from Asutosh College, UGC-NET (Economics). Diploma in French Language (DELF B1, A2, A1), Ministry of National Education, France. Former Economist, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of the Bengali translators of ‘The Country of First Boys’ by Amartya Sen (“First Boyder Desh”, Ananda Publishers, 2017).
